First Race Tomorrow

Today we made our way to Sydney Olympic Park (SOP) to pick up our timing chips for our 10 km race tomorrow and we didn't quite know where to go to collect them. Sylvia at the Information desk actually got out of her booth and walked us over. She said "I think it's time for my tea by now anyway". The line-up was horrendous and the process wasn't very streamlined and because of that and other oversights, we have lower expectations of these Games and logistics than we did at first. We thought that with Australia hosting previous Masters Games and the Olympics, it would be smoother sailing. The line wasn't moving at first because a team of Russian soccer players went to the front of the line and stood in the doorway because they didn't think they should have to wait in line. There was no way that anybody was letting them in. Who do they think they are anyway???!!! I think they were finally removed from the premises by the police. The funny thing is that they are impervious to embarrassment. They are Russians, after all and the universe revolves around them. I don't like them. Later we found out that they are staying in our hotel because we saw them standing outside the door SMOKING!!!

Entertainment at Sydney Olympic Park

The Sydney Aquarium was next on our agenda and the only word I can use to describe it is AMAAAZING! We Walked through a tube where sharks, turtles and manta rays were swimming over our heads. It's like we were under water with the fish.

Well, early to bed because we get up at 5:00 tomorrow morning to take the train to SOP. Wish me luck.
P.S. I think the floor is still moving.
